Got bored but it's time for class...Will finish later loves.
Name: Jack Harkness. Captain.
Sex: Yes please.
Alias or Custom Title: Omnisexual King of the Universe
Was known in his Hometown of the Boeshane Peninsula as the 'Face of Boe'
Age/Age appearance: (stolen from somewhere else since I had no bloody idea) Looks to be somewhere in his 30s. In reality, he's about 200, give or take. Or 2200 if you count that time he spent buried under Cardiff.
Appearence: (picture)
Hometown: Boeshane Peninsula
Family: parents deceased...or rather not even born yet in the 21st century
brother- Gray, chloroformed and in the cryo-chambers
Special Characteristics:
Status: (Doctor, Companion, Time Agent etc) Time Agent, former companion, Head of Torchwood Three
History:
Jack Harkness first appeared when Rose was a companion of the Ninth Doctor. He meet them during the Blitz. Although posing as an American volunteering in the Royal Air Force, Jack is actually a former "Time Agent" from the 51st century who left the agency after inexplicably losing two years of his memory. Now working as a con man, Jack is responsible for unwittingly releasing a plague in 20th century London. After the Doctor cures the plague, Jack redeems himself by taking an unexploded bomb into his ship; the Doctor and Rose rescue him moments before it explodes. He subsequently travels with the Doctor and Rose in the Doctor's time traveling spacecraft, the TARDIS. During his time with the Doctor, Jack matures into a hero, and in his final appearance with the 9th Doctor and Rose, he sacrifices himself fighting the evil alien Daleks; Rose brings him back to life while suffused with the power of the time vortex, but she and the Doctor leave him behind on Satellite 5. Something that really annoys Jack later on.
Going back in time he becomes involved with Torchwood, a secret organization established by HM Queen Victoria in 1879, its prime purpose is to defend the earth against extraterrestrial threats. However, the Torchwood institute begins to use their findings to restore the British Empire to its former glory. To those ends, the organisation acquires and reverse engineers alien technology by any means deemed necessary. According to one of its base's directors, Yvonne Hartman, its nationalist attitude includes refusing to use metric units. They are described as being beyond the United Nations.
He leads the Cardiff-based Torchwood Three in combating alien threats. Jack is re-introduced as a changed man, reluctantly immortal, having spent years on Earth waiting to reunite with the Doctor. Jack recruits policewoman Gwen Cooper to his team of experts after she discovers them; there are hints of romantic feelings between the two, but Gwen has a boyfriend and Jack enters a sexual relationship with the team's general factotum Ianto Jones.
Despite having worked with him for some time, his present-day colleagues know very little about him; over the course of time they discover that he cannot die, and that "Jack Harkness" is not in fact his true name, but an alias taken from a deceased Second World War airman. Jack was once a prisoner of war, and was an interrogator who used torture.
Jack returns to the TARDIS and meets the 10th Doctor and Martha. Jack explains he returned from Satellite 5 to the present day by traveling to 1869 via vortex manipulator, and lived through the 20th century waiting for the Doctor. He learns happily that Rose did not perish in Canary Wharf and is in fact just in an alternate universe. Having spent a year in an alternate time-line enslaved by the Master, Jack opts to return to his team in Cardiff. Before departing, Jack speculates about his immortality and reminiscences about his youth on the Boeshane Peninsula, saying he was the first one ever to join the time academy. Everyone had been so proud of him they'd called him the 'Face of Boe'.
Jack returns with a lighter attitude, and finds his team have continued working in his absence. They are also more insistent to learn of his past, especially after meeting his former partner, the unscrupulous Captain John Hart. Jack reminisces about his childhood in the Boeshane Peninsula, revealing through flashback sequences how his father Franklin died and young Jack lost his younger brother Gray during an alien invasion. Flashbacks depict Jack's capture by Torchwood in the late 19th century. Initially their prisoner, Jack is coerced into becoming a freelance agent for the organization, and eventually becomes leader of Torchwood Three at midnight on 1 January 2000.
Captain John and Jack's brother Gray, who, after a lifetime of torture by aliens, wants revenge on Jack appear. While Jack manages to repair his friendship with Captain John to some degree, he is forced to place his brother in cryogenic stasis after Gray kills his teammates Toshiko and Owen.
As it turns out Tosh was not actually dead. She was so badly injured however there was a chance she wouldn't survive if Jack didn't act fast. Making the appearance of placing her in cryo-stasis Jack later moved her to some alien healing chamber they'd found stored in one of the basements. Distraught over how Torchwood had ruined Toshiko's life he retconned her before taking her home. All reminders of Torchwood or any of her co-workers were removed so she might live a normal life.
It may sound weird for Jack to take such an interest in his former colleague but seeing Gwen alive and happy through all that's happened made him want to give someone else a chance.
