“up is always better than down.” "The roof? A little 'unseemly' don't you think?" he asked. At least so long as he has spectators. "unless you have a better idea." "I'm the Doctor," he replied cockily. He pulled out something from his pocket and the lock on the door fell away and the door opened easily. The other people rushed in behind him, reaching for the supplies. "Americans can be so rude," he told Jenny, somewhat peevishly. "Now, now!" he called out to them. "Leave the money for it behind you, that's good!" There were various grumblings and glares but they followed his instructions. The Doctor found one of the players to look at. "What's going on here?" a gruff voice called out. The people looked guilty, some of them shoving money his direction before leaving as fast as possible. "That's a good question," the Doctor said, his voice firm and hard, in response to the man's question. "How did you get this technology?" "Who the hell are you?" "I'm the Doctor," he said. "And this is Jenny."

Jenny looked up then to the Doctor, wondering what in the world he was doing. She only stood and watched, and when people started walking away, she walked over by the Doctor. “that worked.” Jenny shrugged. She watched a man come out, and wondered what was going to happen next. By the way he talked, Jenny figured he was faking tough, but she could always be wrong. “he didn’t answer your question.” Jenny looked at the Doctor. “and why did you tell him our names?” she then asked curiously.

“he didn’t answer your question.” "He didn't answer mine," he replied. “and why did you tell him our names?”. "Who the hell are you people?" "That's why," the Doctor replied. "And we already told you who we are. And I think you're in a better position to tell us just what is going on here." "I'm a salesman, Doctor, and customers aren't allowed back here."

Jenny looked at the man and she turned back to the Doctor. she was tempted to just knock the man over and walk in, but she knew her father would be disappointed. "i dont think we said we were customers." Jenny sighed.

"i dont think we said we were customers." The Doctor sighed. That particular attitude would more likely hinder than help matters. "Then what are you doing with that," the man pointed to the CD player. "Who do you work for?" the Doctor replied. The man folded his arms in defiance. "Fine, then we'll be off, with this. Tell whoever it is, that I'll be back to see them." "That threat only works if you're a homicidal robot," the man snorted, though didn't seem tempted to stop them. The Doctor just smiled. "Come on, Jenny."

Jenny just stood there and listened to them talk. "come on Jenny." she heard the doctor say and she gave him a weird look, then shrugged and walked with him. "do you think they will follow us or what?" she asked, wondering what his plan was.

"do you think they will follow us or what?" The Doctor shrugged. "Perhaps," he allowed. "It'll save us the trouble of trying to find them if they do. In the meantime, I can investigate what precisely what this is." He held up the CD player. "Back to the TARDIS!" he declared, picking up speed.

Jenny looked at him and shrugged. "are you thinking that it could be something just shaped like a CD player? Like some sort of weapon?" Jenny quickened her pace to so she could catch up to the Doctor. she looked behind her and saw no one but people still rushing to the shop.

"are you thinking that it could be something just shaped like a CD player? Like some sort of weapon?" "I don't know," he said. "But I'll find out soon enough." They got to the TARDIS and he placed the plastic container on the console. Looking at it, he pulled and tested it a few times but no matter how he twisted it (and himself) it absolutely refused to open. He huffed. "I don't suppose you have any expertise in opening plastiform?" he asked, finding some solace in not being above asking for help.

Jenny continued to walk with the Doctor. she stepped inside the TARDIS with him and watched him place the CD player on the console. she looked at it and said "is there some sort of button?" Jenny asked standing next to him. she had never seen one of these before, and was just throwing out ideas.

"is there some sort of button?" "There should be," the Doctor decided. He headed off suddenly before coming back with a pair of garden shears. "I have no idea where these came from, but... hold it." He gave the package to her. "I'll be very careful," he assured her.

Jenny waited for the Doctor to come back. she looked at him holding the garden shears and she looked at him funny. she took the CD player and she shrugged. She probably would have done the same thing. "i trust you." she laughed, waiting for him to cut open the CD player, if that is what it really was.

With a look of utter concentration, the Doctor poised himself with the shears. He lunged with the clippers, which snapped the plastic, sending the cut off edge flying across the room. He ducked. "Oh, are you all right?" he asked her. He didn't think he'd hit her with debris but at the very least she'd have gotten a fright. He certainly did! He put the clippers down.

Jenny held the CD player on the sides and waited for him to cut it. when he did, she jumped a bit, causing her to drop one half of the player. she looked up and smiled. there was no blood so that was a good thing. "yeah fine!" Jenny nodded smiling. she looked at the one piece she was holding and made a weird face. she put the half down and picked the other up.

"Right, good," the Doctor picked up the remains of the package, which thankfully seemed more susceptible to brute force. He pulled out the CD player, which thankfully survived the onslaught. "It takes more than plastic to defeat me," he said victoriously, half wondering to himself whether it might be an Auton invention. A sort of revenge. He returned his attention to the player, placing it into the scanner. "Hmm," he said, frowning at the display in concentration.
